Emir of Kuwait, presidents of Russia, Iraq, the Republic of Azerbaijan, China, Belarus and Syria, and the prime ministers of Pakistan, India and Japan were among the foreign leaders who congratulated the Iranian president-elect.
Russian President Vladimir Putin said in his message, “I hope that your activities as president will contribute to further building up constructive bilateral cooperation in all areas for the benefit of our friendly peoples, in the interests of simplifying regional security and stability.”
Chinese President Xi Jinping highlighted the friendly ties between Tehran and Beijing, saying, “I attach great importance to the development of China-Iran relations and am willing to work with the President to lead the China-Iran comprehensive strategic partnership towards deeper advancement.”
The two countries “have a long history of friendly exchanges, and bilateral relations have maintained healthy and stable development... for over half a century,” Xi said, according to Xinhua.
“Faced with complex regional and international situations, China and Iran have always supported each other, worked together and continued to consolidate strategic mutual trust,” he added.
“(This) has not only brought benefits to our two countries' peoples, but has also made active contributions to promoting regional and world peace and stability,” he said.
Azeri President also extended congratulations to Pezeshkian.
“We attach great importance to the relations between the Republic of Azerbaijan and the Islamic Republic of Iran built on solid foundations such as common religious and cultural roots, friendship and brotherhood,” Azertac quoted Aliyev as saying on Saturday.
He said the agreements on the future development of cooperation between Baku and Tehran “based on mutual respect and good neighborliness and the implemented joint projects serve the well-being of our countries, the sustainable development and security of the region as a whole.”
Aliyev stressed that the joint efforts would guarantee promotion of friendly relations and expansion of fruitful cooperation in line with the two nations’ interests.

In his message, Syrian President Bashar al-Assah wished new president of Iran success and prosperity.
“We will work together to strengthen strategic relations between the two countries and open new promising horizons for cooperation between the two countries,” Assad said.
“Resistance will be the common path that we will take to defend the dignity and interests of the nations of the two countries,” he added.
Kuwait’s Emir Sheikh Meshal al-Ahmad al-Jaber al-Sabah in a message wished Pezeshkian a long healthy life and the Islamic Republic of Iran more prosperity and development.
Pezeshkian secured the majority of votes in the election runoff on Friday, becoming the ninth Iranian president.
With a total of 30,530,157 votes counted, Pezeshkian secured a strong lead with 16,384,403 votes, while Jalili received 13,538,179 votes.
Over 61 million Iranians were eligible to vote this Friday. The vote count started right after the polling ended, concluding a 16-hour voting period that recorded a voter turnout of 49.7 percent, which was notably higher than the turnout for the June 28 election.
